Vor hundert Jahren war das Reisen noch voller Abenteuer. Das erfahren auch die Landmaus Emily und ihr Cousin Alexander, die Stadtmaus, als sie sich auf eine Weltreise begeben, um ihre Freunde und Verwandten zu besuchen. Unterwegs erleben sie allerlei Überraschungen, werden in aufregende Abenteuer und Kriminalfälle verwickelt und bekommen es mit Königen, Prinzessinnen, aber auch Schurken zu tun.
